Babwani Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RespondrID mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your medical information.
2. Information We Collect
Medical and Health Information:
- Emergency medical information (blood type, allergies, medical conditions, organ donor status)
- Medication names, dosages, schedules, and adherence records
- Appointment dates, times, doctor names, and healthcare provider information
- Medical documents and images you upload
- Emergency contact information (names, phone numbers, relationships)
- Medical notes and observations you enter
- Family member medical information (if using Premium family profiles)
Device and Usage Information:
- Device type, model, and operating system version
- App version and build number
- App usage statistics and feature interaction
- Crash reports and diagnostic information
- Notification preferences and settings
Location Information (Optional):
- Location data only when you actively use emergency alert features or check-in timer
- Location sharing is optional and user-controlled
- Location data is never collected in the background
- You can disable location access in iOS Settings at any time
HealthKit Data (Optional):
- Blood type information from Apple Health app (if you grant permission)
- We only READ blood type - we never write data to Health app
- HealthKit access is entirely optional
- You control permissions through iOS Health settings
Subscription and Payment Information:
- Subscription status (Free, Premium Individual, Premium Family)
- Purchase history and transaction records (managed by Apple)
- We do not collect credit card or payment details - handled by Apple
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide medication reminders and appointment notifications
- Display your emergency medical information on widgets and in-app
- Sync data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
- Send emergency alerts to your designated contacts (when you trigger them)
- Process check-in timer notifications
- Manage family profiles and switch between profiles (Premium)
- Track medication adherence and generate usage statistics
- Improve app functionality and user experience
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Detect and prevent technical issues and crashes
- Process subscription purchases and manage billing (through Apple)
4. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage:
All medical data is stored locally on your device with AES-256 encryption. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync or use sharing features like emergency alerts.
iCloud Sync (Optional - Premium Feature):
If you enable iCloud backup, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's end-to-end encryption. We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple manages iCloud security and encryption keys.
Security Measures:
- AES-256 encryption for data at rest
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit
- Secure authentication methods
- Regular security audits and updates
- No central database storing user medical information
- Sandboxed app environment per iOS security model
Widget Data:
Lock screen widgets display limited information (blood type, critical allergies, primary contact). Widget data is stored in a shared container accessible to the widget extension but remains on your device with encryption.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We DO NOT:
- Sell your personal or medical information
- Share your data with third-party advertisers
- Access your medical information stored on your device
- Share data with insurance companies
- Share data with pharmaceutical companies
- Use your data for marketing or advertising purposes
- Provide your information to data brokers
We MAY share information only in these circumstances:
- With emergency contacts when YOU trigger an emergency alert
- When required by law, court order, or legal process
- To protect rights, property, or safety of users or others
- With service providers who assist in app operations under strict confidentiality agreements (e.g., crash reporting services)
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (users will be notified)
Emergency Alerts:
When you trigger an emergency alert or fail to check in on the check-in timer, the app sends SMS messages to your designated emergency contacts. This data sharing is initiated by you and sent directly through your device's messaging service.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access all data stored in the app at any time
- Export your data in JSON format (Settings → Data Management)
- Delete all your data at any time (Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data)
- Disable iCloud sync at any time
- Control notification preferences for each category
- Revoke location permissions in iOS Settings
- Revoke HealthKit permissions in iOS Health settings
- Disable widgets and remove them from lock screen
- Cancel Premium subscription at any time
7. Children's Privacy
RespondrID is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents or guardians may create family profiles for minors, but the parent/guardian controls all data.
If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it immediately. Contact us at babwanitechnologies@gmail.com if you believe we have inadvertently collected such information.
8. Third-Party Services
The app integrates with the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud: Optional cloud backup (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- Apple HealthKit: Optional blood type sync (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- Apple StoreKit: Subscription management (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- Apple Push Notification Service: Local notifications

9. Data Retention
We retain your information as follows:
- Local device data: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the app
- iCloud data: Retained in your iCloud account until you manually delete it
- Crash reports: Anonymized and retained for 90 days for debugging purposes
- Support emails: Retained for 2 years for customer service records
When you delete data or uninstall the app:
- Local data is immediately deleted from your device
- iCloud data remains in YOUR iCloud account (you control deletion)
- We do not retain copies of your medical information on our servers
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
- Right to access personal information
- Right to delete personal information

12. HIPAA Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: RespondrID is NOT a HIPAA-covered entity.
The app is a personal health management tool for individual use. We are not healthcare providers, health plans, or healthcare clearinghouses. We do not handle protected health information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA.
This app does not replace Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems or HIPAA-compliant medical record systems used by healthcare providers.
13. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your information, we will:
- Notify affected users within 72 hours of discovering the breach
- Describe the nature of the breach and data affected
- Provide steps users can take to protect themselves
- Notify appropriate regulatory authorities as required by law
14. International Data Transfers
Your data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, data may be stored in Apple's iCloud infrastructure, which may include servers outside your country of residence. Apple complies with applicable data protection laws for international transfers.
15. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.
Material changes will be communicated through:
- In-app notification
- Email to registered email addresses (if collected)
